From the 19th century into the 21st century The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund has helped make the holiday season merry for children 12 and under from struggling families throughout the New Orleans area. Celebrating its 129th year, The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund brings an early Christmas to families in need.

Why are monetary
donations needed?

The Times-Picayune Doll & Toy Fund only accepts monetary donations. With your donated dollars, we are able to purchase many more toys at wholesale or at discount, allowing us to stretch every dollar.

How are the
donations used?

The non-profit Fund is managed by a volunteer-based Board of Directors. All donations and membership fees go towards the purchasing of toys and the production of the annual Toy Distribution event.

The gift distribution is the day that we all work so hard for! It’s a day filled with excitement and joy as we get to play Santa’s elves and help thousands of children and families during the holiday season.  All children ages 12 and under are welcome to participate.

Anyone can be a member! The Board of Directors is includes a variety of business professionals from throughout the New Orleans Metro area who volunteer their time to keep the Fund going. General Members pay an annual membership fee of $10, which is used towards the purchase of toys, school supplies, snacks and producing the Toy Distribution. We have a variety of committees and opportunities to get involved with the Fund throughout the year, which culminates to volunteering at the Toy Distribution.

The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that began in 1896, whose mission is to bring joy to children of families in need in the New Orleans area. The Fund fundraises throughout the year for monetary donations in order to purchase toys, school supplies, snacks and more for as many children as possible. The Fund holds an annual Toy Distribution the Saturday prior to Christmas Day, where all children ages 12 and under are welcome to attend.
